NEW YORK -- Despite shifting his controversially titled album from "N*****" to an untitled project, a flier touting a screening for Nas' new video, "Be a N***** Too," hit the Web on Thursday night.
Nas released the single "Be a N***** Too" online two weeks ago. On Thursday night, a flier for the video's screening hit the Web depicting feet bound with a rope and swinging above a lawn, as if to suggest that the person photographed was hanged. The flier promises a private screening in New York for the clip but does not specify a date.
The Queens MC recently shot the video with director Rik Cordero in Los Angeles and New York. According to New York's WQHT Hot 97, the clip will feature several celebrity cameos and a plot line drawn from a film dealing with race relations in America.
Nas changed the name of his upcoming album to an untitled LP on Monday, which prompted mixed reactions from the fans. The Rev. Al Sharpton, who has long spoken negatively to the press about Nas' previous album title, called the album's title change a victory in the New York Daily News this week.
Def Jam was unavailable for comment. Nas' upcoming album is slated for release July 1.
